Elmwood’s vision is to be the most innovative girls’ school in Canada and to operate at the forefront of girls’ education globally.
Community Service
Community service and charitable giving are integral elements of life at Elmwood, and our school has a time-honoured tradition of giving back to others. Whether through whole-school activities, House-sponsored programs or individual initiatives, all of our students are active participants in causes that benefit other people—locally, nationally and internationally.
We believe that the service experience will be satisfying to the extent that helping others becomes a way of life. In addition, universities and employers are increasingly interested in an applicant’s involvement in service activities. Elmwood’s service programs provide opportunities for students to help out community members and learn more about themselves and their peers.
All service performed at the school is counted towards the 40 hours of community service required of secondary school students by the Ontario Ministry of Education.
It's so rewarding to be able to help somebody else and really have the opportunity to do something that makes you feel like you are part of something big.
