Celebrating the passion and purpose behind our people

At Elmwood, physical education is about so much more than sports, it is about building confidence, fostering teamwork, and helping students discover the joy of movement. We are delighted to introduce Rachel Feldberg, Junior School Physical Education Teacher, whose approach to PE focuses on helping every student feel successful, regardless of their athletic ability.
Current Role: Junior School Physical Education Teacher
Primary Area of Focus: Physical Education
What’s something you wish more people knew about your area of expertise?
Physical education is about more than sports. PE helps students develop confidence, teamwork, discipline, physical literacy, and healthy habits that can last a lifetime. It is about finding ways for everyone to enjoy movement and feel successful, regardless of their athletic ability.
How does your work contribute to making our community feel lifted and unstoppable?
By creating opportunities for every student to participate, move, and experience success, PE helps students build confidence and discover what they are capable of. Whether they are developing a new skill, working together as a team, or simply finding an activity they enjoy, physical education can help students feel empowered.
What’s something happening at Elmwood that people should know about?
PE in the Junior School is being taught in French! This is an exciting opportunity for students to build their physical literacy while developing their French language skills in an active and engaging environment.
What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?
I’ve travelled to over 65 countries and speak four languages: French, English, Spanish, and Italian!
