This week, the Junior School was under new leadership as Grade 5 student Josie and Grade 4 student Annabelle Patsula each stepped into the role of Principal for a day! This fun and memorable opportunity was made possible through Elmwood’s annual Gala live auction, where “Principal for a Day” is always one of the most popular items.
With their clipboards in hand and warm smiles on their faces, Principals Josie and Annabelle wasted no time making their mark. They declared a Civvies Day for all Junior School students and treated everyone to a delicious pizza lunch—two hugely popular decisions that were met with excitement throughout the school. They also organized for their classes to have manicures and watch movies!
Josie and Annabelle spent the day visiting classrooms, checking in with students and staff, and seeing what it takes to lead a school community. They approached their duties with enthusiasm, curiosity, and kindness, and truly embodied the spirit of leadership and care that defines the Elmwood Junior School.
A huge thank you to Josie and Annabelle for their thoughtful planning and wonderful leadership, and to their families for supporting this special Gala experience. Opportunities like this not only add a spark of fun to our days but also help support school initiatives and provide students with meaningful, confidence-building experiences.
We are so proud of Principals Josie and Annabelle, and grateful for the joy they brought to the Junior School this week!
