IB RESULTS - CLASS OF 2025

The IB Diploma Programme is widely recognized as one of the most rigorous and respected academic pathways in the world. This July, we were proud to celebrate outstanding results from our Elmwood students as International Baccalaureate scores were released globally. Assessed by external educators from around the world, these results are a testament not only to the academic strength of our IB programme, but also to the diligence, talent, and tenacity of our students.

The journey through the IB is undoubtedly demanding, yet the Class of 2025 met every challenge with courage and perseverance. In true Elmwood spirit, our 7 full diploma candidates and 32 IB certificate candidates approached their studies with dedication and achieved remarkable success.

Our full diploma students earned an average score of 33 points, surpassing the global average and reaffirming Elmwood’s place among the top-performing IB schools in North America and internationally. Notable individual achievements included Sarah Di Silvestro with 35 points, Hannah Vermeij with 36 points, and Elizabeth Chen-Baker with an exceptional 42 points, the highest score in this graduating class. For context, 42 points is equivalent to a 96% average under the Ontario Ministry of Education’s grading scale.

Across all IB courses, Elmwood students achieved an average score of 5.01 out of 7, again exceeding global averages. This translates to an Ontario equivalent of 92%. Several students received the top score of 7 in individual subjects, which corresponds to a perfect 100% under the provincial system.

These academic results are truly commendable, and they reflect the focus, resilience, and intellectual growth that define the IB experience at Elmwood. Yet, the numbers tell only part of the story. What truly sets this group apart is their character. The Class of 2025 exemplified inclusivity, empathy, and integrity throughout their IB journey, offering support to one another and contributing meaningfully to the life of our school.

They embody the core values of an IB education and of Elmwood itself: curiosity, compassion, and reflective leadership. We know these students are poised to become thoughtful changemakers and lifelong learners. As they take the next steps in their journeys, we celebrate not only their academic accomplishments but the kind of people they have become. We could not be prouder of all they have achieved.
