Last weekend, our Elmwood Rowing crew made school history on the Rideau River, opening the fall head racing season with an unprecedented performance at the Head of the Rideau Regatta! For the first time in memory, Elmwood brought home two gold medals.
In the double (2x), Poppy and Madeleine showed incredible grit to surge past the favourites for the win, and the coxed quad (4x+) of Clarissa, Bridgette, Annabelle, Poppy, and Madeleine dominated their field, crossing the line more than two minutes ahead.
This triumphant regatta was also a fantastic chance for our newest rowers to gain valuable race experience, proving what it feels like to be lifted and unstoppable! Please join us in wishing the entire crew the best of luck as they prepare for the Head of the Trent in Peterborough next! Go Elmwood!
