The Elmwood Rowing Crew recently travelled to St. Catharine's to compete in the National CSSRA Championships, and they did not disappoint. For the first time in Elmwood history, our crew secured their best-ever rankings, and made it through to the "A" finals with 4 boats (our previous best was 2) and set some incredible records. Of these four crews, we had:
Jr 2x - Annabelle N. & Luoling C. placed 4th
Sr 2x - Poppy K. & Madeleine T. placed 5th
Sr. 63kg 1x - Tamsen T. placed 4th
Jr. 4x+ cox. - Jessica H./ Annabelle N./Luoling C./ Leticia D./ Catherine D. finished 2nd to take the silver medal.
Many thanks to our parent volunteers who always show up for our girls to cheer them on, help provide the set-up and organization of all the many details, and most importantly, provide all the wonderful meals on-site to keep our athletes fueled!
Parents would also like to acknowledge the unwavering support and coaching provided by Coach O'Farrell and Coach Hawksworth. Their elite approach to the sport and every effort in all perspectives is truly formative and contributes to a significant portion of the girls' well-rounded education.
