Celebrating the determination, teamwork, and achievements of our Elmwood athletes.
Here’s what our Eagles have been up to!
TENNIS | ELMWOOD EAGLES ADVANCE
Our Elmwood tennis team had a strong showing at the East Finals Tennis Tournament, with four Elmwood players qualifying to compete.
A special congratulations to Mila D., who has advanced to the City Championships next week! Grade 12 student Mia B. will also compete next week in the Competitive Open Championship.
Both tournaments are qualifying events for OFSAA, so we’ll be cheering on Mila and Mia as they take on the next step in their seasons. Thank you to our coaches Ms. Fraser and Mme Cvetanovic for their guidance! Go, Eagles!
ROWING | A STRONG START ON HOME WATERS
The Elmwood rowing team kicked off its season on home waters this past weekend at the Head of the Rideau Regatta.
For many of our student-athletes, the regatta was an opportunity to shake off the rust and get back into racing. For those who row throughout the summer, it marked the transition into the very different demands of head racing. With enrolment up 30% from a typical year, competition was especially strong.
Off the water, Elmwood families helped fuel the team spirit at the parent-supported food tent, creating a welcoming gathering place throughout the weekend. Thank you to the Crew parents for their support!
On the water, the Eagles had an impressive showing, earning:
Gold — U19 1x: Tamsen T.
Gold — U19 2x: Catherine D. & Tamsen T.
Silver — U19 4x+: Jessica H., Catherine D., Zoe B.H., Magdalen K. & Luoling C.
Thank you to coaches O’Farrell and Hawksworth for their dedication! Congratulations to our rowers on a fantastic start to the season!
Keep an eye out for our next Eagles in Action update as we continue to celebrate Elmwood athletes in competition.
