Tell us about your role and what you like most about it.
I am a French teacher, who has had the amazing privilege of teaching in both the Junior and the Middle-Senior School. I have taught students from PK classes all the way to grade 10! Each grade has its own little something to love and to grow from.
My favourite aspect of teaching is challenging and motivating students with original learning engagements that encourage them to love and master the French language.
What is your favourite thing about Elmwood?
Lots to choose from! Mostly, the dedicated team of educators, the love of learning felt throughout the school and the family-like community.
What is the best piece of advice you have ever received, and from whom?
Trust your instincts, they’ve gotten you this far! - My parents
That’s the way the cookie crumbles! - My Grand-maman
If you could choose one superpower to have, what would it be? How would you best use it?
I would love to have the ability to press pause in life. Living in such a fast-paced life, I sometimes find myself looking back and wishing I would have lived more in the moment.
Which word or phrase do you use most often?
En français s’il vous plaît!
Oh la la!
What is one thing that would surprise people about you?
1. I began my teaching career at Rockcliffe Park PS.
2. During my adolescent years, I was an elite ringette player who was drafted to play in Finland for a year.
What is your favourite extravagance?
Finding and buying a really nice bag that has all the right pockets…! (still looking!)
What is your favourite way to treat yourself?
Pre-Covid, I enjoyed spending a day at the spa; one of my favourite and most impressive was a nordic spa overlooking the Alps in northern Italy.
What has impressed you most about the start of this year?
The warm and encouraging post-maternity leave welcome I received from the Elmwood community when I joined the Middle and Senior School teaching staff.
