JUNIOR SCHOOL TERRY FOX RUN AND HOUSE SPIRIT DAY

The Junior School was full of action this past Friday, September, 16th! Our day began with a special presentation from the Grade 3 students to launch our annual Terry Fox Run. It was wonderful to have parent volunteers back to help with marshaling our run and to cheer the students on. Parents and staff were also out running and walking too. Grades 3 to 5 ran around the school block and were asked to complete as many laps as possible in 30 minutes. Students were thrilled to receive a hair elastic marking each lap that they had completed. Students in Grades SK to Grade 2 ran laps in the schoolyard. In total, students ran a combined total distance of 280 km. Way to go Junior School!

The excitement did not stop there. After lunch, Grades 1-5 participated in their first House Day of the school year. Students were divided into their house groups to learn about their House Heads and created beautiful trading cards to decorate the House bulletin boards. Afterward, we headed outside for a variety of activities and games led by our Grade 5 student leaders. A big thank you to Ms. Alvarez (Grade 5) and Ms. MacDougall (Grade 3) for organizing these special events.
