During the holidays, helping those less fortunate is important to our community. As part of a long-standing and much-loved tradition at Elmwood, we collected items to support families in need through the Rideau-Rockcliffe Community Resource Centre.

The Junior School held a Toy Drive, collecting new toys for children between the ages of 0-12. Gifts were needed for about a hundred children.

The Middle/Senior School organized themselves by homeroom to collect all the makings of a traditional holiday dinner.

In addition to this, our Grade 4 class participated in The Shoebox Project. The boxes were thoughtfully prepared by the students for women in the community who are experiencing homelessness. To learn more about this wonderful initiative, visit shoeboxproject.ca/chapters/ottawa

Thank you to our community for your continuous support. And a huge shout out to the Grade 5 students and Middle School House Council for organizing all of the donations. Working together, we are helping local families have a very special holiday season.
