Federal government employees participating in the Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign can direct their United Way donations to Elmwood School by providing the School’s Charitable Registration Number (#10729-9513RR0001) at the time of donation. Please notify us if you do this so that we can acknowledge your support.
Canada’s tax incentives for charitable donations are designed to make it easier for you to support your favourite charities, including Elmwood School. Thanks to changes in the Income Tax Act, Canadians can now donate their publicly-traded securities, receiving a charitable tax receipt for the full value of the securities, without incurring Capital Gains Tax. The transfer of assets can be initiated using this form.
You may have the opportunity to double or even triple the value of your gift. Many companies offer matching gift programs to their employees as part of the benefits package. Your Human Resources department will be able to tell you about your company’s matching gift policy and help you determine if you are eligible for a matching gift.
The 1915 Legacy Society was introduced in 2014 and recognized donors who have chosen to include Elmwood in their estate planning. Including Elmwood in your estate planning is a wonderful way to leave a legacy for future generations of students at Elmwood School.
Contributions may also be endowed in perpetuity and support the area of the donor’s choice – whether it be a family named endowment fund to support a financial needs student or to support a specific program. Endowed funds of $25,000 and greater may be named in honour of a loved one or the donor’s family. Please contact the Advancement Office for more information about these unique giving opportunities.
If you are interested in more information about any of the ways to donate listed above, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
