Academic Support

With our mission to “inspire each girl to reach her full potential” in mind, we believe that every student should have access to the resources and support they need to achieve their goals.

The Student Success Centre is a centre for enrichment and support for Elmwood students from Pre-K to Grade 12. It serves to bolster the excellence of the academic program and the supportive culture of the school. Under the capable guidance of our Director of Student Success, Ms. Katie Fraser, the Student Success Centre provides each student with the resources, skills and support to set, pursue and achieve her academic, co-curricular and personal goals in a healthy way. The centre is a resource not only for students, but for teachers and parents as well.

In Elmwood’s Junior School, Ms. Fraser works with our teachers to further their understanding of how their students learn best and helps them identify appropriate teaching methods and techniques to ensure that each girl’s individual academic needs are met.

In our Middle and Senior School, Ms. Fraser continues to work with teachers, but also coaches girls directly to reflect on their own learning needs. Girls identify and understand how they learn best, what techniques they can use and where their areas of strength and opportunity lie.

Other Academic Supports:

Homework Haven supports Middle School girls three afternoons a week with an opportunity to organize and complete homework under the guidance of a skilled Elmwood educator.

Additional tutoring support for students in a variety of subjects is coordinated by the school and conducted on campus by Elmwood-approved educators through our Elmwood Edge program.

Through our Elite Athlete Program, athletes competing at the highest level in their chosen sport will benefit from our commitment to the home-school partnership and our dedication to ensuring girls succeed academically as well as competitively.
