If your child is showing symptoms related to COVID-19, parents must complete the Ministry of Health’s online self-assessment tool and call their health care provider or Telehealth. Parents who get their children tested must self-isolate with their family until the result is confirmed.
If a negative test is confirmed, the child may return to school once they have been symptom-free for a 24-hour period and have followed all directions from Ottawa Public Health.
If a positive test result is confirmed, the family will be given direction from Ottawa Public Health to self-isolate for 14 days. Parents must also contact Francie Marchand, Director of Health, Safety and Wellness at fmarchand@elmwood.ca to report their daughter's absence from school.
Students who are required to stay home and self-isolate can immediately switch to At-Home Learning.
