Elmwood Theatre presents Little Women

In this adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s novel, Little Women, set in 19th century America, Kate Hamill brings to life the compelling story of four sisters, as they navigate a chaotic world torn apart by civil war.  With Christmas around the corner, the March sisters - Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy - confront their own challenges with identity as ‘little women’. Under the guidance of “Marmee”, their mother, the sisters’ coming-of-age journey is an emotional exploration of identity and belonging. In Elmwood Theatre’s production of this iconic book, the audience is invited into the intimate world of small town New England in order to reminisce on youth, individuality, and love and to consider what it is like to grow up in a time of war.

This timely play begs the questions: Who do you want to become? What is your responsibility within your family? What happens when that family is gone?
