Tutors | Grade 6 – 12

Elmwood School, one of Canada’s premier girls’ schools, provides an outstanding education to over 365 day students from Kindergarten through Grade 12. An IB World School, Elmwood is located in Ottawa. Elmwood’s mission is to inspire each girl to reach her full potential. The School is looking for expert tutors in Math, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, English (writing) and French to participate in its innovative “Elmwood Edge” tutoring program.

Tutors at Elmwood School are experts in their subject area and have a proven track record of academic and teaching excellence. Expectations for this position include:

Additional Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary Education at the University level in area of specialty
  • Teacher education training (B.Ed., M.Ed.) or significant teaching experience in another setting (i.e.
  • University, College)
  • Ontario College of Teachers (or equivalent) an asset

As an Elmwood Edge Tutor you will be working under the guidance of Elmwood’s Director of Student Success, utilizing a strategic approach to content support. Training will be provided and tutoring sessions will take place at school both during the regular school day and after school hours. Regular communication with teachers and parents will be an expectation of our Elmwood Edge team. Opportunities for tutoring will be dependent on student requests.

Junior French teacher – One year maternity leave position

Elmwood School is one of Canada’s leading independent day schools for girls from Kindergarten through Grade 12. Founded in 1915, Elmwood is the first fully accredited girls’ school in North America to offer the full International Baccalaureate Programme from Kindergarten through to university entrance. Elmwood offers a dynamic learning environment, renowned for its academic rigour and exciting co-curricular opportunities.

We are seeking applications from dedicated, innovative French teachers with experience in teaching French from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 5. The successful candidate will have a strong academic background with the ability to develop and deliver dynamic and comprehensive programming that meets the learning needs of all students. Experience in an International Baccalaureate School and in an all-girls learning environment would be an asset, though not essential.
