Making the Grade

By May 26, 2017 Head's Blog

Finally, after months of anticipation, Elmwood’s Apple Book is now available through iTunes! Now educators, students and parents from around the globe can learn about how Elmwood empowers learning through technology.

I wanted to recognize and thank the many people who contributed towards our Apple Distinguished School designation as well as the creation of this book. I would especially like to thank Mr. Matt Perreault for his visionary leadership. When he joined Elmwood seven years ago, we had only just moved to Apple products. Through his leadership, our school has grown and developed to the point that we meet the Distinguished School criteria, a benchmark to which very few schools around the world measure up.

The process of creating this book could be likened to the process many of our girls are currently completing as they prepare to hand in final assignments. We took a close look at how technology shapes learning at Elmwood, collected our data and proof points, and then set upon creating the content for the project. Then we took care with the design and layout of the content, selecting photos and other media that would support our message. Next, we reviewed it, asked others for feedback, and refined it further. Finally, we submitted it to Apple, and waited for their seal of approval (and crossed our fingers that it would “make the grade!”). As you know, we did make the grade, and now our iBook has been published. Click here to find our iBook on iTunes.

That moment, when you are rewarded with the outcome you were looking forward to, is something I hope each and every one of our girls experiences as this year comes to an end.

Best regards,
