Happy New Year! I trust that 2017 has got off to a good start for you and your family. Everyone seems happy to be back to school and, from the sounds of things, most people had very enjoyable holiday breaks.
It’s hard to believe, but I have written a weekly message nearly every week since the fall of 2008. By my calculations, that’s over 300 messages and close to 140,000 words! For some time we’ve wanted to augment my message with other great stories about what is happening in the classrooms of Elmwood. It’s hard to capture everything in a single message. So we’ve enlisted the help of our teachers and this week you’ll see the first of our new “Time to Shine” stories. I hope you enjoy them.
I also wanted to make sure you heard Elmwood alumna, Annie Murphy ’04, who was interviewed on the CBC earlier this week. She stars in Schitt’s Creek, alongside Canadian comedic icons, Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara. Towards the end of the piece, Annie gives credit for her start in drama to our Director of Elmwood Theatre, Ms. Boychuk. It’s a lovely interview and I thought I should make sure you were aware of it.
Hope your week ends well and please let us know if you have any feedback about this new format. You can reach the Communications team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
