What is the Annual Campaign?
The Annual Campaign is Elmwood School’s yearly fundraising initiative designed to support our students’ educational and co-curricular experience.
Each year, the Annual Campaign provides important enhancements that benefit our girls right away—from assisting with financial aid to more than 10% of our students, to the best technological equipment, sports equipment, classroom needs, leadership opportunities and many more extras that make student life at Elmwood so rich and varied.
Elmwood would not be the great school that it is without the generosity of the whole Elmwood family: parents, alumnae, grandparents, staff and friends.
Contributions of all amounts make a difference and also make a powerful statement about your support for the School.
Our 2009 – 2010 Annual Campaign
Your contribution, no matter the amount, will assist us toward benefitting our students’ educational experience. Below are just some examples of items identified for this year’s Campaign. More items may be added during the year as new opportunities are identified for our girls.
- The creation of a Collaboration Centre, based in the Atrium. Students could come together to share ideas, work collaboratively, use technology and express their creativity.
- Professional-quality audience chairs for our performance venues, including the recently refurbished Auditorium.
- A new curtain for the Auditorium stage.
- The creation of an expanded Bursary Program, supporting at least 4 additional Elmwood students.
- 3D Performance Boxes for puppet shows and other performances in the Junior School.
- The continued growth of Elmwood’s “Edible Schoolyard” organic garden project.
- A digital microscope for the science lab.
- New uniforms for the soccer teams.
- A digital piano for the Music Program.
The Impact of Donations
Thanks to everyone who participated last year in our Annual Campaign. Here are some concrete examples of how donations enhanced the educational experience for our students.
- New flat screen monitors for the Junior and Middle School tech labs
- A Smart Student Response System
- A SMARTBoard for our grade 5 class
- A fun “mini kitchen” for our Junior School students
- Uniforms for our sports coaches
- A variety of new fitness equipment
- Bass guitar and amplifier
- A display board for IB initiatives
- A flip video camera and HD Video Camera with wide angle lens and microphone
- Two students participated in the Enbridge Famous Five panel speaker event
- Support for the Elmwood Bursary program
