Spring Art Show Vernissage @ Koyman Galleries

Elmwood's Visual Arts program is proud to present our Spring Art Show at Koyman Galleries on St. Laurent Blvd. This show will feature works from Grade 11 – 12 art students. You are invited to join us for the opening Vernissage on Friday, May 27th, from 7 – 9 p.m. or visit the show on view from May 27 – June 5, 2011.

Student Fiona Gragg-Reilly explains the theme behind the pieces: “For the past few months, students in the Grade 11 and 12 art classes have been working on paintings of walls. This may seem too simple to be the sole focus of an ongoing project, but these walls have been taken and transformed into conceptually elaborate pieces. Through fine-tuned texture, colour schemes and in some cases meaningful text, the students were able to convey more than just the walls in their most literal form.”
