Fall Entrance Session

Saturday November 28

Applicants to Elmwood are asked to come for an assessment prior to an offer of admission being made to the student. The Fall Entrance Session will take place on Saturday, November 28, 2009. The assessment will vary according to grade of applicant; however, the areas of reading, writing and mathematics will be areas covered during the assessment regardless of grade.

Kindergarten applicants will attend an individual Assessment Session with the Kindergarten teacher to assess basic skills for this age. This session will last approximately 30 minutes. You will be contacted to set up your daughter's individual assessment time.

Applicants for Grade 1-3 will be assessed by a teacher from the Junior School. Students will be assessed in the academic areas of reading, writing, and mathematics. Assessments will take place in the morning.

Students applying for Grades 4-12 will be asked to write an Entrance Exam. Your daughter will be required to bring a pen and a calculator. We will provide you with paper, pencils, protractors and a ruler. The entrance exam will begin at 9:00am and will end at approximately 12:00 noon.  Students are to arrive at the school at 8:45am.

Should an alternate exam date be needed, please contact the Admissions Office to make arrangements. Out of town or international students can make arrangements for their testing by calling the Admissions Office.

If you have not yet completed an application for admission, please do so prior to this date. You can apply online here.
