Hitting the High Notes

Monday September 20

Cailin_web_newsREV2_thumb.jpgElmwood Grade 6 student Cailin Craigen made her Opera Lyra debut at the National Arts Centre in Puccini’s Turandot last week. Cailin auditioned along with over 100 children from the Ottawa region and was one of only 16 young singers cast in the Children’s Chorus. After rehearsing for the past 5 months, Cailin took to the stage for four performances.

The Ottawa Citizen called Turandot “one of Opera Lyra's most successful productions.”

Deputy Head Kate Angell attended the opening night performance and said “I really enjoyed this superb production. It was made particularly memorable by having an Elmwood student participate, and everyone is really impressed with Cailin's achievement.”

Congratulations Cailin!
