Grade 8 and 10 students go Dutch

Elmwood Grade 8 and 10 students were invited by AMGEN Canada to attend an April 13 luncheon at the Château Laurier—launching the year long celebration of the 65th Anniversary of the Liberation of the Netherlands by Canada.
Members of the diplomatic community and Canadian Armed Forces were present at the luncheon. The Dutch Ambassador, His Excellency Wim Geerts, delivered a speech about the close relationship between Canada and the Netherlands. Students were keen to hear about the stories of Canadian Forces liberating the Dutch in World War II after 5 years of Nazi occupation.
