Elmwood student wins silver at Ottawa Regional Science Fair
Saturday April 04Ottawa, April 4, 2009 – Elmwood Grade 7 student Cindy W. won a silver medal in the Health Sciences category at the Ottawa Regional Science Fair (ORSF), held April 3 – 4 at Carleton University. Cindy, one of 39 contestants in her division, presented her project, "Who has better memory, children or adults?" to ten judges, who awarded her second place for her efforts.
The ORSF is a volunteer organization which encourages students in the Ottawa-Carleton Region, from grades 7 to 12, to research, develop, and present projects in the fields of science and engineering.
"It was a tough competition, with lots of really interesting projects," said Cindy. "I'm so proud to have earned a trophy for Elmwood School."
