About Young at Art

youngart04.jpgYoung at Art is a juried art competition that brings the work of young visual artists to local art galleries across the City of Ottawa. The competition, held annually since 1996, represents a tremendous opportunity for the public exhibition and recognition of the creative efforts of these young local artists.

Submitted artwork goes through a jury process to determine which pieces will be exhibited in galleries in the east, west and central regions of the City. Young at Art juries are a diverse mix of youth and established artists from our community who volunteer their time and expertise to help deliver exciting, quality exhibitions based on common assessment criteria.

youngart06.jpgArtists of accepted works will have their pieces displayed in a community gallery – often near where they live. In addition, a number of prizes for outstanding work are presented to young artists at separate awards nights in each of the three areas of the City.
