Elmwood Eagles City Rugby Champions
Friday May 28The Elmwood Eagles captured the NCSSAA Tier 1 A/AA Rugby championship with a resounding 50 – 10 victory over Mother Teresa at Rideau High School Thursday afternoon. The victory caps a successful playoff run for the team, which advances to the OFSAA provincial championships in Sarnia May 30 – June 2.
"The girls played an amazing game and deserve full credit—I'm so happy for them. Going to OFSAA is a culmination of all their hard work—some of them have played three years for this opportunity," stated coach Erin Derbyshire.
"We're going to play our hearts out in Sarnia."
