Elmwood Eagles city basketball champions
Friday May 01Ottawa, May 1, 2009 – The Elmwood Eagles Grade 7/8 Basketball team captured the Girls Tier 2 OCIAA city championship with a last-minute 44-43 victory over Frank Ryan, capping off an undefeated 9-0 season. High scorers were Julia C. for Elmwood; Sharon R. and Abigail H. for Frank Ryan.
Elmwood coaches Meagan C. and Emilie C., who play on the Eagles senior team were ecstatic about their team's showing this season.
"I loved having the opportunity to help the girls improve individually and also all together as a team. They did so well and I am so proud that they made it to the finals and won," said coach Meagan C.
