Middle School
The focus of the Middle School at Elmwood is meeting the needs of girls as they grow through the physical, emotional and intellectual phases from Grade 6 to Grade 8. In a girl-focused supportive and challenging environment, students are encouraged to discover their passion as they learn about themselves and how they learn.
In the classroom setting, a challenging academic program supported by technology enables students to develop the skills and attitudes that will see them through post-secondary learning and beyond. In Middle School students are introduced to two of our third language options, Spanish and Mandarin, which helps them establish a firm foundation for further language study. There are many opportunities for athletic involvement in Middle School. 80% of our Middle School students play on at least one of our 17 sports teams. They can also show off their dramatic side, by performing in the Middle School musical.
The stage is set here for the transition into Senior School and on to post-secondary education.
